Adoption Process

The adoption process is important for all three parties involved: the association, the dog, and the new family. For us, the most important thing is that the family is ideal for the dog in question since the dog's mental health is at stake. If the dog is adopted and then returned, it will suffer. Upon first contact with potential adopters, they need have to fill out a questionnaire to determine if they are compatible with the dog in question.

Preferably, potential adopters should visit the shelter to meet the dog in person and do a short interview. When they adopt it, they have to be aware of the dog's needs, its traumas if it has any, and its state of health.

From the day the dog is taken away, the new family would need to invest about 15 days in getting the dog used to its new surroundings and family memebers. After this process, if the integration into your new family is succesful, then a change of owner is made, to be paid by the new owner. The dogs are delivered neutered, with a chip and passport. There will be subsequent monitoring by the association to be aware of the dog's evolution and whether the adoption has gone well.

During the first months we will contact the adopters more often and ask for details about how the dog is doing. In the event that the adopters cannot physically collect the dog from the shelter, we can arrange transportation for the dog at the adopters expense.

Pre Adoption Questionnaire

The purpose of this questionnaire is to find the optimal combination between a pet and a human, guaranteeing the happiness of both after adoption. We would appreciate honesty in all responses, we have to consider that many of our animals have experienced difficulties in their past and we seek to provide them with a good and safe home to prevent them from suffering again.

It is essential to keep in mind that when you adopt, you add a living being to your family, which means dedicating love and time for the next few years.

Completing this questionnaire does not imply the reservation of any specific pet.
