The Ubuntu Team

Meet the Team

Cristina and Alena share a deep passion for dogs, whose experiences and life paths have led them to dedicate themselves to the care and well-being of these animals. Cristina, 36, discovered her love for dogs after moving to the countryside and adopting her dog Golfo.

Her commitment to canines motivated her to learn about animal communication and to collaborate with Alena in creating a shelter for dogs. Alena, for her part, grew up in a family environment where dogs were considered members of the family. After the loss of his deaf dog Rada, with whom he had a special bond, he was inspired to help more animals, culminating in founding Ubuntu Dogs with Cristina.

Both have the mission of offering a second chance to disadvantaged dogs, joining their forces and knowledge in favor of this noble cause.

Cristina

My name is Cristina and I am 36 years old. Since I was little, I always wanted to have a dog, but my parents told me that until I moved out on my own it wouldn't be possible. I have had my dog Golfo for 10 years and since then life has been more beautiful.

After moving to the countryside, I realized that not all dogs have the same luck. I decided, together with Alena, to help every single one we can. Three years later, my experience with dogs has grown as I learned everything as I went.
I took a course in Animal Communication, level 1. It helped me a lot to understand how our friends think. In the future I hope to help and understand many more.

Alena

My name is Alena. I was born into a family that already had a dog, and since then I was always surrounded by dogs. For me they were like brothers.

At 23 years old I had my first dog Rada, with whom I had a very special bond, since she was deaf and we understood each other perfectly.

Since she passed, I decided to help as many animals as I can, and several years later we decided to build our own dog shelter in our house.
